Being asked to photograph a fellow photographer friend’s wedding is taking on a lot of pressure. Who else is more critical of photos than us photographers who know what works and what doesn’t?

My photographer friend Jeff Lewis asked me to document his wedding any way I wanted. This wedding had a total of three still photographers (myself included) and one videographer, so pretty much every angle was covered.

It was fun and a lot less stressful to be able to be creative as possible, without having to worry about getting all the safe shots. The introductions during the reception was money!! Who else but huge Laker fans would stage a pre-game introduction, complete with team intros by the DJ, and huddle to kick off the reception? Just like Staples Center, I tell you.

I made some images I’m proud of, and I had a good time shooting a friend’s big day.
