Danny + Mary Wedding: The Reef, Long Beach

When Danny and Mary told me they were having their wedding at The Reef on a Friday evening, I knew I wasn’t in store for a typical wedding. The view from the rooftop sun deck overlooking downtown Long Beach, Rainbow Harbor and the Queen Mary was breathtaking.

The ceremony was scheduled to start at 5pm, barely enough time to catch that sunset money light. Although it was an overcast day, I was hoping that I would be able to shoot using available light and not have to use my flash. It didn’t work out as hoped, as it was totally dark by the time we got started. Danny and Mary had a simple, yet elegant ceremony that was a joy to photograph and be a part of.

I was hired to only shoot the ceremony and formal portraits afterward. This wedding is a good example of how I am always willing to work out a custom package to meet your needs.
